Jolene Gallup Obituary (1949 - 2016)

Jolene Gallup passed away on January 18, 2016 in Ogden UT. She was born on January 23, 1949 to Howard M. and Eugenia Cobabe Gallup. Jolene lived in Slaterville, Utah, all her life. She graduated from Weber High School and attended Weber State College, before beginning a 28-year career in marketing with Convergys Corporation. A member of the LDS Church, she served a mission in Milan, Italy. Her love of that experience was evident throughout her life, particularly in her service with the name extraction program working with Italian records. She taught Primary for many years, and served in the Primary presidency. Jolene’s joy in young children was apparent each week as she eagerly fulfilled her Primary callings. For more than 20 years, she gave loving care to her mother, Jean, in their home in Slaterville. An avid reader, Jolene’s life was filled with books. Children and family in the neighborhood enjoyed visiting Jolene and playing with her cats, and she delighted in joining in celebrations with her extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents. Jolene will be missed by her extended family, friends, neighbors, and Primary children.Services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 12:00 noon, at the Marriott-Slaterville 2nd Ward, 250 North 1500 West. Friends may visit with the family before the services from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Aultorest Memorial Park, Ogden, UT
